Promoting Independent Authors

Even as eBook platforms like the Amazon Kindle have democratized the publishing industry and provided new paths to authorship for burgeoning writers, it has made the barrier to success that very democratization. It is nearly impossible for independent authors to cut through the noise of too many choices to find readers. Authors increasingly look for new and inventive ways to gain attention for their work. Video is a very popular medium on social sharing sites, leading some independent authors to develop movie trailer like short videos to promote their books.

I enjoyed working in collaboration with independent authors to help them distill their written work into video trailer format. After initial consultation, I developed and presented scripts and storyboards for approval then designed all still assets and worked closely with a motion effects editor to bring these visions to life.
